"The gift isn't the talent...many people have talent. the gift is actually being able to follow it up and make it your career." - Jamie Cullum

This past weekend I came across Jamie being interviewed on NPR's Weekend Edition. During his interview with NPR's Scott Simon, he spoke about how he luckily was able to harness his Superpowers and find his way to a career in music.

I was lucky to find a live Jamie Cullum performance (Blenheim Castle, below) while channel surfing on a Jet Blue flight a few years ago and became an instant fan. He's not an artist who's going to get mainstream airplay but the his pure talent, energy and passion for the craft of music is amazing. Just watch the clips of him below covering Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven" and Taylor Swift's "Shake It Up" and you'd think they were covering him, not vice-versa.

He's definitely got the talent. And looks like the career thing is working out just fine.

What do you think? Have you been able to make a career out of your talents?
